looking for a basket or project bike

Hey guys,

I'll be heading to Miami on Feb. 24th and heading home on March 6th. If you know of a bike under a grand that is close to my route and isn't junk let me know. My son is looking for a starter and likes the Bobber look.

Hey Germ, ya can't get much for a grand these days, but good luck hunting. I'd say go on Craig's List and look in the states you will be going through. The "bobber" look can be done on almost anything except Gold Wings and crotch rockets. I'd also suggest staying away from inline 4 bangers, the older ones (carbureted) can be a major PITA when it comes to carb sync, etc. Yamahas are pretty good, but I am prejudiced when it comes to that.

That sounds like a great project bike Blaz! I'll pick it up in March.

Re: looking for a basket or project bike

Cool I will post some pictures tomorrow. It was a project bike for me like shit maybe 10 years ago  how time flies. I called it the Slayer bike it was my first paint and flame job it came out orange pealed but it was kind of cool. The motor had just over 10,000 original miles ran good needed carb work. I would be happy if someone made it run again and got some use out of it. i still have a 1949 Harley Hummer basket case i want to put back together one day when I get some extra cash and time.

I had it in Laconia in 2005 my nephew was riding it it was and extra bike, my goal is to get another Harley like fatboy or fatBob and keep my Sportster for a spare.

Hey Blaz, I won't have time to stop by after my cruise, I finally got an appointment to see the hip surgeon a few days after we get off the boat. I'll make a run down to see you in the spring if that's cool.
